Overview

London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT) invites Hampton residents, businesses and community groups to help refresh the Village Plan. The current Village Plan was created in 2011 following the All in One survey of 2010 and can be found here:

http://www.richmond.gov.uk/hampton_area_village_plan

The plan is made up of your local vision for how the area will develop in the future. It includes key issues, priorities and opportunities in your area, identifying ways to get involved and useful information on how to get things done with the Council.

The Village Plan for Hampton will now also incorporate Supplementary Planning Guidance, a Council policy that will impact on planning and development as well as protect and enhance your area’s character[1] and conservation areas.

By filling out this questionnaire you can  help to create new Guidance for Hampton as well as refresh your existing Village Plan so as to:

  • Make Hampton a desirable place to live in
  • Strengthen opportunities to get involved in the local community
  • Reduce isolation and loneliness

This is the first stage of consultation.  Your feedback will be published in Autumn 2016 on the website listed above.

The second stage of consultation will focus solely on the Supplementary Planning Guidance for Hampton and will take place during late Summer - Autumn 2016 before it is adopted in early 2017. Please read through the consultation material provided before completing the survey.

The material will also be displayed at the drop-in events.

[1] A Character Area is a small sub-area of the borough where the physical features in terms of building style, building materials, street pattern and landscape are considered to be similar. A Character Area is a useful way of describing the area.  Each Character Area in the borough is unique and any development in a particular area should seek to preserve and complement the characteristics of that Character Area.
