Wandsworth Council is proposing to make changes to our Tenancy Policy and Tenancy and Rent Strategy.
The Tenancy Policy and Tenancy and Rent Strategy outline our approach in how we manage our tenancies, including the type of social housing tenancies we offer.
We are reviewing the type of tenancies that are offered to residents by the Council, proposing to use only secure (lifetime) periodic tenancies as a default (not flexible fixed term tenancies) in most cases, and to offer new secure (lifetime) tenancies to existing tenants on flexible fixed term tenancies in most cases.
In coming to this decision, the Council has:
Please note: Current tenants on secure (lifetime) periodic tenancies will NOT be impacted, nor experience any change to their current tenancy as a result of these proposed changes to the Tenancy Policy and Tenancy and Rent Strategy.
Following the consultation, we will consider all the comments we receive.
