Overview

A petition has been presented to the Council by some residents of Mandrake Road SW17. The petitioners requested the re-designation of the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) (currently 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday) to operate 9.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, the same as the D3 core area (Fircroft Road and Noyna Road).

The reason for submitting this request was to address the difficulties they experience finding a space during the evening and on a Saturday due to non-residents parking in the road.

Given the level of support indicated by these representations, and an investigation by officers, the Council has approved a consultation with residents to consider your views on parking conditions and on amending the CPZ operational times in the D3 roads to the north of Upper Tooting Road and Balham High Road.

The D3 CPZ zone is highlighted in purple on the map below and at the bottom of the page you can go to our 'Locations of Parking Zones' webpage which has additional information.

Increasing the hours/days of control will not affect the cost of, or require you to obtain a new, resident (or business) parking permit. However, your visitors would be required to display a resident visitor permit (virtual/paper) when parking during the extended controlled hours in the evening and on a Saturday.

Your views will help inform the decision on whether to make any changes to the CPZ operating in your road (D3). We would also like to hear from you if you do not own a vehicle as parking controls can affect your visitors.

YOUR VIEWS ARE IMPORTANT TO US: Please complete the online survey below by Monday 18 December 2017. If you would like a paper copy of the document or the survey, or you live outside of the consultation boundary, please contact us at consult@wandsworth.gov.uk

The Council would like to demonstrate that any change has the support of local residents so a good response is very important. All feedback to this consultation will be considered along with all relevant traffic management and other highway factors, prior to a decision being made on the way forward.

Further information including updates on this consultation, can be viewed on the Parking Reviews webpage or by emailing parking@wandsworth.gov.uk
