South Twickenham CPZ (Zone E) Review

Closes 6 Mar 2020

Opened 24 Jan 2020

Overview

In 1990, the Council implemented the South Twickenham Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), Zone E, operating 8.30am to 10.30am, Monday to Friday.

A review of Zone E was conducted in 2017 and did not result any change.  However, the Council is now reviewing this CPZ again as part of a wider review of parking in the Teddington/Strawberry Hill areas – see plan here.

We are now seeking feedback from residents and businesses within the CPZ on its operation including whether you are happy with retaining the existing operational days/hours (8.30am to 10.30am, Monday to Friday) or whether you would like these to be changed.  You may be aware that part of this zone already operates 10.30am to 2.30pm, Mon-Fri, in the section of Waldegrave Gardens (between Waldegrave Road and Tower Road). As part of this review, the Council will also be considering other improvements to the CPZ to include access to local amenities and a possible review of zone boundaries.

If you feel that the existing CPZ’s days/hours of operation are sufficient in providing parking protection to the community then the Council will consider your view on this accordingly.  However, if you feel that the CPZ’s days/hours of operation should be changed, a range of options are provided here.

The current parking permit costs and options for operational times are below.  The prices are for the 1st permit per household/business for one year.  An increased rate applies to subsequent applications. Some properties may be subject to a S106 Planning Agreement which restricts or prohibits the issue of permits.

Resident visitor permits

Resident visitor permits (scratchcards) currently cost £13.85 per book of ten half day permits.  These are half price to the over 60s. The permit must be validated for the relevant time period.  One permit, correctly validated, would be required for one full day’s parking in a CPZ that operates for two to four hours. Two permits would be required for zones operating for more than four hours a day.

Please note that the above parking charges are reviewed annually.
