Strawberry Hill Controlled Parking Zone CPZ (Zone SH) Review

Closed 20 Mar 2020

Opened 24 Jan 2020

Overview

In February 2019, the Council implemented the Strawberry Hill Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), Zone SH, operating 10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, following consultation with residents and businesses in the area.

The Council is now carrying out a review to assess the effectiveness of this CPZ during its initial period of operation.  This review will consider all comments received since the CPZ’s implementation and involves consultation with all properties within the zone. As part of this review, the Council will also be considering other improvements to the CPZ to include access to local amenities and a possible review of zone boundaries.

The consultation seeks feedback from residents and businesses within the CPZ on its operation including whether there is support to reduce or extend the operational days/hours.

If you feel that the existing CPZ’s operational days/hours are sufficient in providing parking protection to the community then the Council will consider your view on this accordingly.  However, if you feel that the CPZ’s operational days/hours should be changed due to, for instance, non-residents parking when the CPZ does not operate, a range of options for change are provided in the online survey below.

The consultation will also seek feedback from residents of existing Zones E and Z4 as part of a wider review of parking in the Teddington/Strawberry Hill areassee plan here.

The current parking permit costs and options for operational times are below.  The prices are for the 1st permit per household/business for one year.  An increased rate applies to subsequent applications. Some properties may be subject to a S106 Planning Agreement which restricts or prohibits the issue of permits.

Resident visitor permits

The permit must be validated for the relevant time period.  One permit, correctly validated, would be required for one full day’s parking in a CPZ that operates for two to four hours. Two permits would be required for zones operating for more than four hours a day, as per the present arrangements in Zone SH.

All feedback to this consultation will be considered by the Council along with all relevant traffic management and other highway factors, prior to a decision being made on the way forward.  The Council would like to demonstrate that any changes to a CPZ have the support of local residents, so a good response is very important.  Further information on this consultation / review including parking charges can be viewed by visiting the webpages below or by calling the Customer Service Centre on 020 8891 1411.
