Fairfax Road Proposed Parking Scheme

Closed 17 Jun 2016

Opened 20 May 2016

Overview

The purpose of this consultation is to ask for your views about a proposed parking scheme on Fairfax Road, Hampton Wick.

The Council has received regular complaints regarding vehicle accessibility on Fairfax Road between the entrance to Collis School and Bushy Park Road and also from residents having difficulty accessing off-street parking to their properties. The proposal to introduce a footway parking exemption to allow two wheels on the pavement and marking parking bays will help to discipline parking behaviour and improve emergency service and general vehicle access.

The attached plan illustrates the proposals in greater detail, but broadly the proposed changes are to raise existing carriageway parking to two wheel parking on both sides of the Fairfax Road between Bushy Park Road and the entrance to Collis Primary School. The arrangement of the parking bays will effectively widen the carriageway and will allow improved clearance between parked cars and the entrances to properties with off-street parking.

Your views on these proposals will help to shape the eventual outcome of the consultation.

Please give us your views using the online survey link below by Friday 17th June 2016. If you require a paper copy of the questionnaire please email paul.robinson@richmond.gov.uk or phone 020 8487 5276.

Following the consultation, the results will be reported to the Cabinet Member for Highways and Streetscene for consideration in conjunction with your local Ward Councillors. Should the consultation produce a favourable outcome it is proposed that the scheme would be introduced later this year.
