Overview

When new developments take place in the borough, the Council receives funding from developers towards the costs of providing community and social infrastructure in the local area – this is known as Section 106 funding.

Following the recent redevelopment of the Star and Garter building, Richmond Council is in receipt of Section 106 funding which we are proposing to use to redevelop the disused toilet block within Buccleuch Gardens, converting it into a new café facility which would also include toilet facilities.

The reconfiguration of the building would be sympathetic to the existing building structure but would include a new terraced seating area at the front of the building.

You can view plans showing the proposed layout of the finished building and its location within Buccleuch Gardens here.

The aim of this consultation is to inform park users and the wider public about our proposals, to establish whether the proposals are supported and to gather comments and feedback to help us make a decision.

We would like your views on whether or not you would support the redevelopment of the toilet block to create a new café and the re-provision of the public toilet facility.

To take part in the consultation, please look at the proposals and give us your views using the online survey below.

If you would like a paper copy of the proposals or the survey please contact consultation@richmond.gov.uk

Please be advised that this consultation closes on 13 August 2018.
