Tooting Common Management and Maintenance Plan Survey
Overview
Wandsworth Council and our partners are working to deliver an innovative new management and maintenance plan to guide the management of Tooting Commons until 2035.
Together, Tooting Bec and Tooting Graveney Commons cover an area of 92 hectares and form the largest green space in the borough. They support priority habitats, provide formal sports facilities and children’s playgrounds, and welcome visitors who walk, run, cycle, relax, socialise, enjoy wildlife and commute through them. The map below illustrates Tooting Common divided into eight distinct zones:
The new management and maintenance plan will provide a clear framework for decision making, and include priorities for delivery to ensure that the Commons can maintain their Green Flag status and adapt to the impacts of climate change. It will replace the Tooting Commons Management and Maintenance Plan 2015-2025.
We are investigating lots of issues that affect the Commons including; biodiversity and hydrology, access and wayfinding, and projected changes in population and climate that may impact how the Commons are used.
The management and maintenance plan will be separate to other projects related to the site, including the engagement process for the Tooting Triangle future management plan in addition to other proposals for this site.
Your views are important to us
You can help shape the future of the Commons by completing our survey and telling us how you use them, any issues that affect your enjoyment, and what improvements you would like to see. If you need to request a paper questionnaire or any other format, please contact parks@enablelc.org or call 020 3959 0060.
What happens next
All feedback we receive in response to the survey will be carefully analysed and considered. A summary of the key feedback and next steps will be published on this page so please keep an eye out in the future for this!
We will also be running a drop-in engagement session at the Common in June 2025 (date and venue to be confirmed).
