Garratt Green Inclusive Playground Consultation 2024

Closed 24 Feb 2025

Opened 16 Dec 2024

Overview

Wandsworth Council has secured £420,469 to refurbish this playground with a focus on inclusive and accessible play and we want to hear from you!

The project will see us design a new playground aimed mainly at children aged 0-14, but we also want to hear from you if you have teenage or adult children with special needs who might want to play here. Our goal is to provide a range of equipment that is inclusive, fun, accessible, and helps develop skills like fine motor abilities and risk assessment.

We want to ensure children with physical and learning disabilities can enjoy play and play alongside their friends and family. The new playground will have an improved layout allowing more children to play together at the same time.

We are keen to consider features that make this a welcoming space for teenage girls. We want to provide all young adults with items to support active lifestyles.

Some of the equipment is over 15 years old and starting to show signs of wear and tear; if we don’t do something now, we may have to decommission items in the next few years. We also want to replace the damaged “ball wall” adjacent to the playground because you told us how much your children value this play item.
