Draft Statement of Community Involvement

Overview

What is the Statement of Community Involvement and why are we reviewing it? 

The Council is inviting comments on the draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The document explains the Council’s approach for future consultation and community engagement in planning. This is to make sure Wandsworth’s communities can be a part of shaping places in the Borough and influencing planning decisions.  

This draft is an update to the previous version of the SCI that was adopted in 2019. This is to meet the requirements of planning legislation and to improve community involvement in line with the Council's guidance set out in Raising the Bar and the Developer Protocol.  

We want to make sure the views of the community are at the heart of the planning process.

The consultation closes at midnight on 4 November 2024.  

Please note that responses will not be treated as confidential and those submitted anonymously will not be accepted. By responding to this consultation, you agree that your response will be made publicly available following the close of the consultation, however personal details will NOT be made publicly available. 

Next steps 

Following the public consultation, all responses received will be carefully considered and will inform the adopted Statement of Community Involvement.
