Wandsworth Access for All Consultation

Overview

Wandsworth Council is committed to making Wandsworth fairer for all its residents. 

A new £4.85m Access for All scheme was launched this summer, which is designed to break down barriers and make sure every resident has an equal chance of accessing local opportunities, including sports, leisure and other essential services.

Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council said about the new scheme: 
 
'Wandsworth is celebrated for its high quality of life, outstanding schools, vibrant cultural scene, and the lowest council tax in England. Despite these advantages, not all residents benefit from what Wandsworth has to offer.
 
Our Access for All scheme will help ensure that every resident can benefit from the opportunities that make Wandsworth such a great place to live, work and play in. We want to create a borough where every resident can thrive, regardless of their circumstances.'

Targeted concessions already in place include:

• Free sessions in council leisure and sports centres including gym and swim
• Free sessions in the famous Tooting Bec Lido
• Free access to padel courts
• Free school uniforms
• Free school meals

Over the next few months more concessions and support across a wide range of council services will be announced, and we would welcome your views on what areas you think are most important for us to focus on.

We'd like to hear about how you use our services, what you think about the principles of the scheme and where you think the money should be spent to make the biggest difference to our residents.
