Whitton Central CPZ (Zone WC) Review

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Whitton Central Controlled Parking Zone (Zone WC) Review consultation.

Following consideration of the consultation findings, it has been decided to retain the existing Whitton Central CPZ arrangements. Consultation responses indicated support for maintaining the current scheme and not making changes to the current parking controls.

The consultation also considered a proposal to extend the CPZ. Feedback received did not demonstrate sufficient support for the extension and it will therefore not be progressed.

The consultation findings formed an important part of the evidence considered during the decision-making process.

About this consultation

We'd like your views on how the Whitton Central Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), Zone WC, is working.

The CPZ was introduced in 2020 and currently operates: 

  • Monday to Friday - 10am to 2pm 
  • Event days - 11am to 11pm

Why are we reviewing Zone WC?

Since the CPZ was introduced, some residents and businesses have shared feedback about its operation.

We are now consulting all properties in the zone on how the scheme has worked. This includes seeking views on whether the CPZ’s operational hours/ days are about right or need to be changed.

Further information

The Council would like to demonstrate that any changes to a CPZ have the support of residents so a good response is very important, although the Council will not base its decision on residents’ wishes alone. All feedback to this consultation will be considered by the Council along with all relevant traffic management and other highway factors, prior to a decision being made on the way forward.
