Overview

You may recall that we consulted you during May / June 2017 on whether you wished to see a Community Parking Zone (CPZ) implemented in your area.

The results of this consultation showed sufficient support for the CPZ in the two areas proposed. Having taken all relevant factors into consideration, the decision has been made to implement the scheme, operating 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, in the roads listed below:

  • Talbot Road, Marsh Farm Road, Hamilton Road, Warwick Road, Norcutt Road, Edwin Road, Crane Road, May Road, Gravel Road, Gould Road, Albion Road, Knowle Road, Colne Road (East of May Road) and The Green, Twickenham.

The northern arm section of The Green has been included in the scheme as it is an important main road traffic corridor and the parking spaces in this road will be designated as shared-use to provide parking for residents, businesses and turnover for the local shops / businesses.

The new CPZ will come into operation on 16 April 2018 by way of Experimental Traffic Orders.

A detailed design is attached at the bottom of the page. The detailed design is also available to view, along with further information on the consultation and decision to implement the CPZ, on the Council’s West Twickenham CPZ web page.

From Tuesday 27 February 2018, larger scale copies will be also available to view at:

  • Twickenham Library, Garfield Road, Twickenham, Middlesex TW1 3JT during opening hours
  • Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, Middlesex, TW1 3BZ between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday

Parking places will be designated (lined and signed) throughout the zone with the exception of Marsh Farm Road, Talbot Road, Hamilton Road, Norcutt Road and Warwick Road. In these five roads, permit parking areas will be signed without bay markings given that these roads are no through roads.

If you have any comments or concerns on the layout, please feel free to complete the online form below by Friday 16 March 2018.  Alternatively, please contact Christopher Roberts-Wray on 020 8891 7695 or e-mail C.Roberts-Wray@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk.

During its first six months of operation, the CPZ will be monitored to see how the new layout is working and whether any modifications need to be considered. Also during this period representations will be invited.

Application form packs and more information on the initial six-month consultation period will be sent out in mid-late March 2018.
