West London Waste Plan – Publication of Proposed Main Modifications

Following consultation on the Proposed Main Modifications, the West London Boroughs received representations from 28 representors.
The Inspector has considered the representations made and issued a report on 16 March 2015. The report states that, subject to the inclusion of certain modifications, the Plan is legally compliant and sound.
The West London Waste Plan will be reported to Richmond Council Cabinet on 14th May, with a recommendation to adopt the Plan and its modifications.

Overview
The six West London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames have prepared a joint West London Waste Plan, which was submitted to the Secretary of State on 30 July 2014 for independent examination in public.
During the examination hearing sessions held between 7 October and 10 October 2014, the Inspector indicated that in order for the Plan to be “sound”, it should be modified in a number of areas. Before the Inspector will issue his final report on the Plan’s soundness and legality, the modifications have to be publicised and the Inspector will consider comments made on the proposed main modifications.
