Richmond Council Tree Planting Strategy Survey
Overview
Richmond Council is currently developing a tree planting strategy to support the Richmond Corporate Plan and Climate Emergency Strategy. Trees are an important part of the urban landscape, providing a range of benefits to people living in and visiting the borough.
Increasing tree canopy cover has been identified as a key component in helping the borough become more resilient to the effects of climate change, and enhancing the borough as a place to live, work, and visit. However, trees require careful consideration as they can sometimes be perceived negatively and can compete with other parts of the urban environment.
This survey aims to understand how people in Richmond borough feel about the trees in the area. We are interested in your opinions on trees in Richmond, how this relates to existing tree provision, and where you would like to see additional tree planting to help meet the Council's goals.
This survey is the initial phase of a broader engagement project planned to give residents the opportunity to shape the Council's tree planting and establishment strategy. This strategy will outline the Council's priorities and targets, and provide details on where efforts will be focused. There will be further opportunities to have your say as the strategy develops.
