Richmond Town Centre Station Area improvements

Closed 8 Nov 2010

Opened 15 Oct 2010

Overview

In 2006/07 the Council undertook widespread consultation to assess the level of support for the TfL funded Richmond Town Centre enhancements scheme. The results were favourable, and the section between Hill Street and the Quadrant has now been completed.

The Council has now developed detailed proposals for the area outside of the station and on Kew Road. There are two different scheme options and this phase 2 consultation is to find out which of these two scheme options has most public support.

Further details of the proposals are available at the below link. The public were asked to give their views via a survey, which was available in hard copy and online.

What happens next

1,700 documents were distributed by post and handed out at the station as well as being available on the website. A total of 495 were returned, with 203 (41%) supporting Option 1, 287 (58%) supporting Option 2 and 5 (1%) choosing neither option.

What has happened as a result?

As a result of the consultation we are working closely with TfL to secure technical approval / funding to implement Option 2.
