Normanhurst Drive CPZ Consultation

Closed 24 Sep 2023

Opened 18 Aug 2023

The Council is consulting residents about whether or not they would support  adding Normanhurst Drive to the St Margarets North Controlled Parking (Zone S2).

In September 2015 the Council implemented the St Margarets North CPZ. The zone operates 10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with Orchard Road, Netherton Road, Ailsa Avenue, Gordon Avenue and the adjacent section of St Margarets Road within its boundary; see map here.

The zone was implemented following consultation with all affected properties in the area with the exception of Normanhurst Drive, as responses received from this road did not show sufficient support for the road to be included.

Following recent requests from residents of Normanhurst Drive, the decision has been made to re-consult residents of this road on the option to join Zone S2.

If Normanhurst Drive is added to Zone S2, residents and their visitors parking on street during the operational periods (10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday) will be required to purchase and display a valid parking permit.

You will not be able to purchase a permit if you live in a property subject to a S106 Planning Agreement, which restricts or prohibits the issue of permits.

Details of Zone S2 parking permit prices from 3 July 2023 are as follows:

Permit type Cost
Resident £98.60 per year
Resident Visitor £3.00 per day
Business £327.90 per year

Resident and Business permits

The Resident and Business permit prices are for the first permit issued per household/business for one year. Subsequent permits purchased per household/business per year are approximately 50% more for the second permit issued and approximately 50% more again for third and subsequent permits issued per household/business.

Resident visitor permits

Resident visitor permits (scratch cards) are available at half the standard price to the over 60s. These permits must be validated for the relevant time period.

Please note that parking charges are reviewed annually.

Have your say

Please give us your views by completing the Online survey below.

If you are unable to complete the survey online and you would like a paper copy of the questionnaire, please call 020 8871 8929 leaving your name and address and quoting reference ‘Normanhurst Drive consultation’ and one will be posted out to you with a postage paid return envelope.

The Council would like to demonstrate that an extension to the CPZ has the support of residents so a good response is very important, although the Council will not base its decision on residents’ wishes alone. All feedback to this consultation will be considered by the Council along with all relevant traffic management and other highway factors, prior to a decision being made on the way forward.
