Lower Richmond Road Supplementary Planning Guidance
Overview
The Council are seeking comments on draft planning guidance which outlines the approach the Council will expect developers to take in relation to any development in the area between Lower Richmond Road and Manor Grove, comprising Orchard Road, Garden Road and Market Road.
The area is unique in the Borough in that it has direct access to the A316 and is already occupied by a number of industrial and storage uses and it is therefore considered that the area should be retained for industrial and warehousing uses.
The draft Supplementary Planning Document proposes designation for the retention of employment uses. It also recognises any redevelopment should seek to improve the appearance of the area and particularly the conditions for nearby residential properties.
