Richmond Town Centre - enhancement proposals
Overview
The consultation involved a manned exhibition in the middle of Richmond Town Centre from Saturday 3 March - Sunday 11 March, until 7pm. The scheme was on display and officers were present to answer questions. Views were also captured via a comments form. The exhibition was then transferred to Richmond Reference Library and Twickenham Civic Centre from 12 - 23 March.
A questionnaire was sent to 5000 businesses and residents in the South Richmond ward, with a leaflet explaining the proposals.
Awareness was raised via leaflet, posters on Community Noticeboards, information at local libraries and a message on Richmond Council's website.
An estimated 4000 people attended the exhibition throughout 3 - 11 March, with 750 attending on the first day. The exhibition comments form captured 713 responses.
1033 questionnaires were returned.
The feedback was positive and of the 19 general proposals being outlined, 17 had 60% or above support. See the below report for full results on these and other proposals.
What has happened as a result?
Feedback from the consultation will be presented at the Area Consultation Meeting for Richmond. It will then be used to inform a presentation to the Transport Consultative Group on 16 May.
