Elleray Road Teddington Community Parking Zone (Zone 1) Consultation

Closed 26 Jun 2015

Opened 26 May 2015

Results updated 20 Oct 2017

Thank you for taking part in this consultation.  The results are being reviewed and responses will be communicated directly to those residents within the CPZ area.

Overview

Last year the Council received a petition from residents of Elleray Road requesting that the operational hours of the Community Parking Zone (CPZ) be increased.   The Council understands that this petition was collated due to the levels of non residential parking, observed by residents in Elleray Road, after the CPZ terminates at 6.30pm.

Following consideration of this petition and as part of a review of parking in Teddington, the Council is consulting residents in the CPZ area on proposals to increase the CPZ’s operational hours into the evenings and on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

An increase in the operational hours would lead to the cost of parking permits increasing as stated below.  These charges take into account the general likely increase in parking charges and a new charge for 3rd and subsequent resident permits issued per household, with effect from 1 June 2015:

  • First resident permit issued per household per year - from £68 to £99
  • Second resident permit issued per household per year - from £102 to £148
  • Third and subsequent resident permits issued per household per year  - £198
  • Resident visitor half day permits - £12 per book of ten permits

For visitor all day parking (including into any evening period) two permits would be required.  For evening parking, one permit validated for the afternoon period would be required.

Further details on controlled parking zones and parking charges can be found at www.richmond.gov.uk/controlled_parking_zones or by contacting 08456 122 660.

Any change in the operational hours would require changes to the existing CPZ signage and include improved signage to the North Lane car parks to encourage visitors to use them during the daytime and evening.  The Council would endeavour to keep street furniture (new posts) to a minimum.

Your views are important to us and we invite you to submit your completed questionnaire by Friday 19 June 2015 when the consultation closes.

Please read through the consultation material before completing the survey.

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to call the Customer Service Centre on 08456 122 660.

Generally the Council expects to have support from a majority of households before implementing changes to the CPZ.

The results of this consultation will be analysed by Council officers and if it is established that there is sufficient support for the operational hours to be increased, the Council will progress to formal advertisement of the proposals (traffic management order).
