East Sheen Parking Review

Closed 16 Nov 2012

Opened 8 Oct 2012

Overview

A parking review in East Sheen is being undertaken in response to the following issues raised by residents and businesses in the 2010 All in One survey:

- The lack of available parking close to people's homes, outside the existing CPZ area, due to commuters and shoppers parking in residential streets and local parking restrictions

- The need to improve available parking close to local shops to encourage people to use local shops and to enable fuller use of all road space

- The need for more flexible parking arrangements, with more free short-term parking generally in the area

The review includes consultation with all residents and businesses in East Sheen (see map of consultation area below) seeking their views on:

- Reducing the hours of the East Sheen CPZ to two hours (say 10 am -Noon, Monday to Friday - though precise times would be agreed later)

- Removing the East Sheen CPZ altogether, but only with substantial support from the residents of the roads concerned

- Extending the East Sheen CPZ to some roads south of the Upper Richmond Road West and/or either side of the existing CPZ

- Exploring the shortening of existing yellow lines with the aim of maximising parking availability where it is practical and safe to do so
