Richmond Draft Sustainable Construction Checklist Supplementary Planning Document Consultation 2025/26
Overview
Richmond Council is consulting on a draft Sustainable Construction Checklist Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The Sustainable Construction Checklist (SCC) SPD consists of two components:
- An Excel Checklist (required submission document) that calculates scores as you complete it.
- A Guidance Document which provides advice on completing the checklist, sustainability accreditation, energy statements, and links to relevant policies and resources.
The draft SCC SPD updates the existing version to reflect the ambitious approach to sustainable construction and energy efficiency in the adopted Local Plan, and reflects the latest national and regional policy changes and guidance since the last update.
The draft SCC SPD introduces tailored checklists, so applicants only need to complete the Checklist relevant to their development type (or more if a mix of development types is proposed).
