Survey of equipment and minor adaptations

Closed 9 Apr 2010

Opened 5 Feb 2010

Overview

The survey of equipment and minor adaptations is a statutory survey run by all councils throughout England. Results are submitted to the Information Centre. The findings also inform two National Indicators showing how equipment and minor adaptations have affected service users' quality of life and how service users were treated by those who discussed their needs with them.

Provisional findings will be published by the Information Centre in September. A report will also be produced and published on the council website.

What happens next

What has happened as a result?

The findings were used to calculate two National Indicators:

- NI 127 (self reported experience of social care users) where 71.8% said equipment / minor adaptation had improved their quality of life and

- NI 128 (user reported measure of dignity and respect in their treatment) where 90.6% said they were happy with the way they had been treated.

The findings will be available in full in autumn 2010, where we will be able to benchmark ourselves against other local authorities.
