"Shaping the Future of Care Together"

Overview

The Government is proposing to change the way care support is funded in England and Richmond Council wants to hear the views of local people at a consultation event on Thursday 1 October. The "Shaping the Future of Care Together" Green Paper focuses on adapting the way the current care system is funded so that it can cope with longer life expectancy and changing social demands, as well as making it fairer, more flexible and easier to understand.

Consultation activities include:

- Focus group discussion with Age Concern on 18 September 2009

- Stakeholder event on 1 October 2009

- Member's briefing session on 13 October 2009

The borough's draft response to the consultation will be published on the website after the event on 01 October 2009 to ask for feedback.
