Children and Young People's Plan 2013-17
Overview
The Children and Young People's Plan sets out the strategic direction and goals for the Children and Young People's Trust Board (CYPTB), covering all children and young people up to the age of 19, and up to the age of 25 for care leavers and young people with learning disabilities. It covers universal services such as schools and GPs; targeted services for children with particular needs such as support for behavioural or health difficulties; and specialist services for the small number of children with the most complex needs, such as children in care or those with disabilities. It puts in place a vision for children and young people in the borough, outlines commitments to children, young people and their families and the anticipated outcomes that will emerge as a result of the work delivered.
Regulations to have a CYPP were revoked in October 2010 and local areas are no longer required by statute to prepare a plan. However, in keeping with the decision to maintain the CYPTB in its current format, the decision has been made to develop another CYPP to enable the Trust to clearly set out its strategic direction. This CYPP will build on the structure of the previous plan, albeit more simplified and concise.
