Overview

This is a consultation with existing and potential service users of Young People Drugs and Alcohol Service and their families to identify needs.  The findings will be used to inform service needs analysis, planning and commissioning.

Three surveys form this consultation, including a survey of providers, users and parents/carers. They were sent by post and also available online.

 

The deadline for responses was extended from 1 October to Monday 18 October, to allow time for further responses.

What happens next

Seventy-two young people and nine parents engaged in the survey, indicating sources of information that young people access for information / advice about drugs and alcohol. The results also investigate patterns of young people behaviour and trends within the domain of drugs and alcohol including usage, nature and frequency of drug and alcohol use against:

- age

- ethnicity

- helpfulness of information and advice available on drugs and alcohol and

- helpfulness and usefullness of existing services.

What has happened as a result?

The survey results informed annual needs analysis and treatment plan to ensure that the service continues to meet local needs.
